Girls Boarding School The Tradition Lives On Nov. 15 2003 (Updated Dec. 29 2003) By The Editor www.thespankingnews.com (First of a three part series) In days past, corporal punishment at school was as common as reading, writing and arithmetic. If a student got out of line, they could expect a hand, paddle, or cane across their bottoms. In western schools, the paddle was the preferred choice of implement, while in the east the cane was used quite frequently. These punishments were usually carried out quickly, and generally all spankings were administered over a girl's skirt covered bottom. However, the discipline carried out at a girls boarding school was a different matter. I recently had the opportunity to speak with a woman who attended such a school in her youth. For anonominity reasons we will refer to her as Jennifer. When I asked Jennifer about the types of punishment she received and how they were given, she replied, "You have to remember, at boarding school your parents are not around. The teachers and school officials act as your parents. You live there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. So when it comes to punishment, and in particular a spanking, you were spanked the way your parents would have spanked you, not the way a teacher would have spanked you."

She continued, "For example, most spankings were given on the bare bottom, something that would have been unheard of at a regular school. And the frequency would have also been excessive compared to your average high school. It was rare that a few days would go by without seeing someone, or at least hearing about someone getting spanked. Most of the girls at the school were sent there because their parents felt they needed discipline and a firm hand." When I asked Jennifer to describe what a typical spanking was like, she replied "In general, if you were caught doing something against the rules, or were rude to a member of the staff you were dealt with right on the spot. You weren't send to the office to be dealt with by the Head Mistress, like many books and stories I've read. Punishment by the Head Mistress was reserved for very serious matters, not for petty things. I remember on my second day at school a girl had not fully completed her homework. She was called to the front of the class, told to pull down her knickers and go over the knee of the seated teacher, who then applied a rigorous spanking to the girl's bare bottom. I was in total shock at the time, but it seemed like the rest of the class didn't think anything was out of the ordinary. After the spanking, the girl walked back to her seat with a big smirk on her face as if to say "that didn't hurt". I knew then that this school was serious about discipline, and tried my best to follow the rules and stay out of trouble."

So, are good old fashioned bare bottom spankings and caning a thing of the past at boarding schools? For the most part yes, but believe it or not there is still one boarding school where this tradition continues. Although it's official name and physical location is kept secret and enrollment very limited, the fact that spankings are administered on a regular basis is not a secret to those in attendance. Known simply as Girls Boarding School, the atmosphere is slightly more casual then your typical school. In fact, the school has a more laid back look of a large house or office with plenty of rooms and study areas compared to the confined area of a school room with small school desks. Uniforms are worn when class is in session and casual clothes at other times of the day, which seems like the time the young attractive girls get into the most trouble. And what about the spankings? A record is made each time corporal punishment is used, with pictures and video of each firm spanking or caning given. And with the strict set of rules at Girls Boarding School, each and every young lady finds herself over the knee, or bending over for a good dose of old fashioned discipline sooner or later.
