"They make you spread your legs and bend over and put your hands flat on the desk," she said, "then they rub the paddle lightly on your rear end just to kind of tease you, and then they hit you as hard as they can," The slim, attractive fifteen-year old went on to tell how she'd received four swats that day.

"I was getting hit so hard I squirmed around and the last one hit my leg," she said, adding that she had bruises on her behind and leg that lasted for days after.

Facing strong opposition from school officials who claimed their right to maintain authority was at stake, Tammy's mother finally comprimised, but insisted on coming to the school to administer the punishment herself. The incident ended when Tammy bent over the principal's desk and her mother gave her ten strokes on the backside with the same strap she used for discipline in her home.
"Tammy would have been better off taking the paddle swats from us," said an assistant principal afterward. "Her Mom really sizzled her behind with that strap."
