A short time ago I started a new survey on this site to find out what people thought about spanking paysites. Basically I wanted to know if I was the only one who joined such sites, and I was also interested in the reasons people had for not joining and perhaps I could address a few misconceptions. Before we go on, here is the question and choice of answers in the survey:

The results of the poll were very interesting, and at the same time puzzled me to some degree. I was a little surprised at the number of people who have never joined a pay site.. ever. Roughly 69% have never joined one.

Too expensive

Now lets take a look at the reasons people have for not joining a pay site from the other answers in the survey. 19% of people said they were too expensive. Fair enough, I can understand how some could not afford to plonk down $20-30 a month to visit a site, but do they realise they do not have to be a member every month. No you don't! You can join any spanking pay site and download 1000 videos and every other thing on the site and then cancel your membership.

If you really like what you see you can let your membership carry over to the next month and so on, but what I wanted to point out is that you are free to cancel your membership and only sign up for one month and that's it. And joining a site for one month out of the year will not break the bank for most people.

I don't want to give credit card details over the net.

This was the number one reason people had for not joining a pay site. 30% said they don't want to give credit card details over the net. I have to admit, this number surprised me a bit. I could understand seeing a number like this 5 years ago, but I honestly believed people were not as afraid as they once were about using their credit card.

Purchases online have soared over the last 5 years. The National Retail Federation has projected holiday sales to hit $435.3 billion this year (2005). Out of those sales, $172.4 billion would be in online transactions, a 22% increase from online sales in 2004. Yes that number was 172.4 BILLION and just over the holiday season. In my opinion it is either just as safe or safer to use your credit card online then it is at a regular store off-line.

Lately when I read about credit card fraud it involves offline stores like gas stations, restaurants, and department stores.

All it takes is for one disgruntled minimum wage employee who wants to give himself a big raise in pay. You hand your credit card to a gas station attendant, he swipes it into the store's system and then secretly swipes it into something called a skimmer.. which is a small hand-held device that copies all the information from the card. In some cases these "skimmers" have even been installed at some gas pumps to grab the info from people who pay at the pump! He can then email that info to anyone, or sell it to someone who will make a new credit card with your info! People also hand their cards to a waitress without a second thought, who then takes the card.. often to another room.. to process the payment. All it takes is a split second and your card can be double swiped. Trust me you need to be cautious whether you are using your card online or offline.

So what to do? Well, you can either be paranoid and never use a credit card for any purchases ever again, or just follow some simply advice from the pros:

1. When paying for something at regular store, never let the card leave your site.
2. Make purchases at reputable dealers compared with a shop or store that looks like it might not be around for another month.
3. When making an online purchase from ANY company, look for a picture of a lock at the bottom of your browser. That means your purchase is secure and encrypted. You will only see this lock on the page that takes your credit card number, and the confirmation page after.
4. Most important! Check your credit card statement every month and look over every single transaction. If you find something that doesn't belong, contact your credit card company immediately. If the purchase was not made by you, they will take it off.. but don't wait a year to complain.

Some of you might question if a spanking site is a reputable dealer. Actually when it comes to online purchases, what you should really be looking at is who handles your transaction. In general most sites listed on my pages use either CCBill, Inet-cash or Verisign as a processor. Your card details are not handled by a freshly spanked model as another part of her punishment (sorry to disappoint some of you). Your credit card is processed by a separate company that is secure, and has been providing such services to multi-million dollar clients for many years.

I don't want name of spanking site on my statement.

18% of people who took the survey gave this excuse for not wanting to join a pay site. They were afraid the name of the spanking site will appear on their credit card bill. O.K I have a confession to make. This was a trick answer! The reality is the name of a spanking site DOES NOT appear on your credit card bill. I put this answer in the survey because I wanted to see how many people thought this was the case.

What appears on your bill is the name of the credit card processor that is used, and a discrete company name of the site you joined. For those interested, here is a list of exactly what will show up on your credit card statement if you sign up for the following sites:

So I hope this clears up the misconception that some naughty name will appear on your statment, and those 18% of people can now join a spanking pay site without any worries.

A Few more Questions & Answers

Question:
You mentioned to join for a month and then cancel my membership if I can't afford it anymore. Is it difficult to cancel a membership?

Answer:
No it is not difficult to cancel. In fact it is surprisingly simple. Each site will have a link that allows you to cancel, but if you can't be bothered to look for it just go the website of the credit card processor. If you look at CCBill's page, the link to cancel is dead center on the main page. If you joined any of the Girls Boarding School sites using INET CASH DE, the easiest way is to just click the customer support link and then click Cancel my membership and choose the site you wish to cancel. That's all there is to it..

Question:
Will the spanking site mail anything to my home?

Answer:
No! No one will ever send anything to your home. Even the credit card processor will not send a bill or any advertising to your home. Your purchase will appear on your credit card statement with the name shown on the list above and that's it.

Question:
Will they send anything to my email?

Answer:
Yes! And it is important to give a correct email when you sign up to any website. They will send you a confirmation email with your user name and password for the site you just joined. If you do not wish to use your home email, get a free web based email from Yahoo or Hotmail.. I personally prefer Yahoo myself.

Question:
After I sign up at a website, is there any information on the order confirmation page I should care about?

Answer:
Yes! Make a note of the user name and password (so you can get into the site!) and there should be an order number, subscription number or confirmation number on the page as well. Write this down too. If you choose to cancel it may ask for this number and the email you used when you signed up. Don't worry, without this info you can still cancel, but it is very easy to do if you keep note of the items listed above.

Question:
Some sites give me an option to sign up for one month or 3 months. Which should I choose?

Answer:
If you have never signed up to a pay site before you may be surprised how much content they have waiting for you. Some will have thousands of pictures and video clips! Let's face it, if you wish to download or watch everything on the site it is going to take some time. If you spend a lot of time on the computer you may be able to get most of it in one month, but for someone who doesn't spend hours everday at the computer or dial-up users, I would highly recommend the 3 month option if they have one. You will notice they give you a big discount for the longer length of membership you choose.

Conclusion

I hope this little article helps to clear up any confusion there might be when it comes to joining a pay site. There is just so much great stuff around the net to be missed, and if the reason not to join was a simple one, I hope I have helped some of you out and put your minds at rest.
